Terms & Conditions
The short version: Awaken Journal runs on the web and in our Android and iPhone apps. It's offered as-is: use it, enjoy it — and keep your own backups of anything important, because a forgotten password or a lost device can mean data no one can recover.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Awaken Journal ("the Service"); using our website is covered by the Everything Awaken Terms of Use, operated by Everything Awaken™ (owner: Tanureet Kaur Randhawa, Punjab, India). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Where Awaken runs
Awaken Journal is live on the web and on Android through Google Play, and our iPhone app is being prepared for the App Store. We keep improving it: features may change or be removed, the Service may occasionally be unavailable, and data can be lost through faults we don't foresee. You use the Service understanding this, and you should keep independent copies of anything important — the app's Backup export exists for exactly that.
2. Who can use Awaken
You must be 14 or older to use Awaken. If you're 14–17, you may use it only with a parent's or guardian's permission, and by using it you confirm you have that permission. See the Privacy Policy, Section 10.
3. Your account and your password
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for the activity under your account. Please give accurate information when signing up. Notify us if you suspect any unauthorised use.
Your writing is encrypted with a key only your password can unlock — we never have it. That means if you forget your password (or, for Google/Apple sign-in, your vault passphrase), we cannot recover your data, and it is permanently lost. You accept this when you create an account. Please use a password manager and keep your own exports.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to it, or using it for anything unlawful or harmful to others.
5. Your content
Everything you write in Awaken — your journal, tasks, money and notes — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of your content. We store it, encrypted, only to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
If you choose to keep plain copies of your notes elsewhere (for example, a folder on your computer, or a cloud drive you sync it with), those copies are not encrypted and are governed by that device or provider, not by us. Deleting your Awaken account does not delete them.
6. Our intellectual property
The name Everything Awaken™, the Awaken brand, logo, design, and software are the intellectual property of the owner. You may not copy, resell, or pass them off as your own.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that data will always be preserved — particularly ahead of our 1.0 release.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Everything Awaken and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service — including data lost because a password or passphrase was forgotten. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited under Indian law. Awaken is a personal tool, offered in good faith.
9. Not professional advice
Awaken is a personal organisation and tracking tool. Nothing in it — including money tracking or any future insights — constitutes financial, legal, medical, or professional advice. See our Disclaimer.
10. Purchases & refunds
We do not process payments directly. Any purchase, subscription or optional contribution in Awaken Journal happens through the store you installed it from — Google Play on Android, Apple's App Store on iPhone — and is governed by that store's own terms and refund policy. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
10A. App store terms
If you downloaded Awaken Journal from Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, alongside these Terms. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google Play's own terms of service also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app, its content or its support — we are.
11. Ending your account, suspension & changes
You can delete your account at any time from Settings; deletion is immediate (see the Privacy Policy, Section 8). We may suspend an account that breaks Section 4. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, as it evolves — if we ever shut the Service down, we will give you notice and time to export your data first. We may also update these Terms; we'll change the date above, and for significant changes we'll tell account holders. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts in Gurdaspur, Punjab having exclusive jurisdiction.
